The Intel® MPI Benchmarks
The Intel® MPI Benchmark (IMB) suite is an often-used component of a High Performance Computing performance profiling toolkit. This section introduces this toolkit for the Windows HPC application developer. Note that Windows HPC Server 2008 now includes several cluster diagnostics and profiling tests within the Cluster Administrator console.
HPC Benchmarks and Cluster Tools
The HPC Challenge Benchmark suite along with the Intel MPI Benchmark (IMB) suite are often used elements of a High Performance Computing performance profiling toolkit. Many such benchmark applications and cluster profiling tools were originally developed on non-Microsoft platforms and thus may require some rebuilding for Windows. Often, the rebuild effort is very easy. This is the case with the IMB suite. We've made it even easier by providing a Windows specific makefile. Simply follow the instructions herein. Note that several of the cluster diagnostics tests within the IMB suite are also now built-into the Windows HPC Server 2008 diagnostics console.
How to build the Intel® Cluster Toolkit for Windows HPC Server
