Issue Description

FIX: Error message when you try to start an application that you deploy by using ClickOnce deployment in the .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1: "You cannot start application <App_Name> from this location"


SYMPTOMS
Consider the following scenario. You deploy an application by using ClickOnce deployment on a computer that is running the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1). The application is configured to allow URL parameters to be passed to the application. You pass different values to the URL parameters when you try to start the application. In this scenario, you cannot start the application. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
You cannot start application <App_Name> from this location because it is already installed from a different location.
Note This problem does not occur when the computer is running the .NET Framework 2.0.

RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next .NET Framework 2.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
