I installed this hotfix because an application was crashing. The hotfix solved the problem with that application, but later I noted that many applications incl. IE7, Word, Outlook and others started to crash under various circumstances. I also had a previous version of VC2005 installed. I tried to uninstall all VC2005 from 'Add/remove probrams', but it does not actually uninstall the dlls from the WinSxS directory and they are still in use.
My OS is Windows Server 2008.

How can I uninstall this hotfix ?

Thanks,
Vlad

hello, It works fine for me - so far!

The symptom was that Paint Shop Pro X2 crashed before, it works fine now.

I don't know if it will help anyone, but Paint Shop Pro X2 worked fine before I installed Skype 4.0, Adobe ConnectNow Add-in, SqueezeCenter 7.3.2, Microsoft Silverlight, Windows Live sign-in Assistant. I also had a series of Windows updates for Office 2007, Media Center, and Windows since the 10th of Feb (PSP X2 worked fine) and today 06th of Feb, when I notice PSP X2 crashes.

To answer to vlad's post, apparently I can uninstall this hot fix from Vista's Uninstall or change program dialog, item: "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable". I didn't try, but I can see it.

Cheers
Pascal

I did install this hotfix also for Corel WINDVD 9 crapping with MFC error. The fix did resolve the issue with WINDVD, but then, the fix introduced other problems in other applications, WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER as an example where it lost the AMBIENCE display. I get a black screen this time. I still have not checked the other applications that may also have been affected.
