Snipp Dogg is a snippet editor for use with Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 Intellisense Snippets. This tool allows you to create fully functional and robust snippets to streamline the development process and make code reuse a snap.

By floating windows, do you mean the ability to undock the Snippet Explorer and the Snippet Properties windows?

It seems to assume that you only have one snippet in a file, which is not necessarily true. The <CodeSnippets> tag allows multiple <CodeSnippet> tabs inside of it.

My biggest suggestion would be to write this as a VS.NET add-in, rather than a separate app.
