Martin,

I think my confusion is due to the fact that I am the only person testing the builds at the moment, and I was playing around under that account on the machine, I believe. Setting up a quick test this morning, I see that you are right in how it should behave.

Thank you so much!

Joseph
Hi Joseph,

Glad you have found it useful. For CI builds in TFS2008 IBuildDetail.RequestedFor should actually be showing you the name of the person that performed the check-in that has triggered the build rather than the build service user (who's account details should be showing up in IBuildDetail.RequestedBy). Is this not how it is working for you?

Glad it is working well otherwise - let me know how you get on with this issue.

M.
Martin,

First off, this is a great starting point for any sort of wallboard examples using TFS. We have a spare system and largescreen monitor in the office and are looking forward to implementing something similar.

I do have a question, though. I see that you use IBuildDetail.RequestedFor to determine what usename to show as the build initiator. I would assume that this would show the account the the build runs under if you have CI or daily builds set up, correct? The reason that I ask is that it would be nice to be able to determine who checked in the files with a specific work item that broke the build in the event that it does not succeed. Do you know of any straightforward way that this could be accomplished?

Thanks,

Joseph
