The code samples

Using the code samples available on the Downloads tab, you can jump-start development of Office Live Small Business solutions. You can add these code samples to any Office Live Small Business account.

Note The downloads provided in an Office Live solution (.olp) format can only be added to an Office Live Small Business account with a locale of English (United States).
Some downloads are provided as zip files. Neither the user interface nor the code in these samples has been localized. The samples that create or interact with Office Live Small Business applications may not function correctly in an Office Live Small Business account with a locale other than English (United States) or English (United Kingdom).

Note If you use Mozilla Firefox as your Internet browser, the code in these samples may not function as described.

See interactive examples of the Contact Manager Web service

The Contact Manager Web Service Examples download is a custom business application that displays SOAP requests and responses for each method in the Contact Manager Web service. You can use these examples to create Web applications that interact with Contact Manager data.

To download the Contact Manager Web Services examples, click the Downloads tab or click the following link:
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=officelive&ReleaseId=634

Map the business addresses of your contacts

The Contact Map code sample creates a map that displays the location of all of your contacts included in the Business Contacts list in Contact Manager in an Office Live Small Business account. This mashup leverages the Microsoft Virtual Earth APIs and the Web services in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.

To download the Contact Map sample, click the Downloads tab or click the following link:
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=officelive&ReleaseId=623

Estimate the value of the property at addresses in your contacts list

The Property Value Estimator code sample is a mashup that is designed to estimate the value of the property located at the home address of a contact included in the Business Contacts list in Contact Manager. The estimates are gathered using APIs provided by Zillow and proxies created using ASP.NET Server Page (.aspx) files. External data is retrieved using Web services provided by Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.

To download the Property Value Estimator sample, click the Downloads tab or click the following link:
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=officelive&ReleaseId=625

Track time spent on project tasks from Project Manager

With the Time Card code sample, you can track and record a single occurrence of time spent on a given task and also the total time spent on that task over many occurrences. Time Card uses the Lists Web services from Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to retrieve data from the Project Tasks list in Project Manager. The sample code creates a list in Project Manager to store Time Card data.

To download the Time Card sample, click the Downloads tab or click the following link:
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=officelive&ReleaseId=628

Connect your client application to Office Live Small Business account information

The Client Application Connection code sample provides code for you to use to build a client application that uses Windows Live ID Client and the Office Live Small Business Discovery Web service to provide Windows Live ID authentication. This example code connects to an Office Live Small Business server with the user's Windows Live ID credentials and lists all documents in one of the account's Office Live Small Business document libraries.

To download the Client Application Connection sample, click the Downloads tab or click the following link:
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=officelive&ReleaseId=629
Yes, I am afraid that any of the samples that are packaged as Office Live solutions (.olp) files can only be added to accounts with a locale of English (United States). I updated the text to try to make this clearer, and will make sure that a better solution is available as we move forward. Thanks for the feedback!
CherylE - MSFT
Technical Writer - Office Live
Oops -I should really read the 'readme.txt' more carefully!

I just spotted the line in there that says 'This sample will not function in an Office Live Small
Business account with a locale other than English (United States).' so I guess I answered my own question.
Hi,

I tried to install the 'Time Card Code Sample' into my OLSB business applications but I got the error:

Solution failed verification

The solution you are trying to add is designed for a different language or country/region than your account. You can only add solutions that match your language and location settings. Contact the party from whom you received this solution, and request a new solution that matches your account’s language and country/region.

I am based in the UK and my OLSB account is set up as a United Kingdom account. Since the Office Live Small Business Code Samples home page says that the samples will only work on Office Live Small Business accounts with a locale of English (United States) or English (United Kingdom), I expected it to work.

Should this work with a UK based OLSB site?

Thanks
