COMMENTED ISSUE: myTrackingObject is undefined.

I get myTrackingObject is undefined when using Silverlight.isInstalled("2.0") on an IE6 without silverlight installed. This was with the version of silverlight.js released on Oct 20 2008.
Comments: Thanks for reporting the issue, Martin. This was an issue in an earlier version of the file. Can you please download the latest 'current' version and verify that the problem still reproduces for you?

Thanks for your guidance, I could find the problem.
The bug was in IE-7.
Although IE-7 was correctly sending the "User-Agent" info in HTTP header to remote sites, it was rendering just “Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0)” to the local Java Script (instead of “Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)” in userAgent property of navigator object.)
I spent the whole day trying to fix it, but nothing worked. Only by un-installing and re-install IE-7 fixed the navigator object.

The issue you are running into is that your userAgent string is not listing any OS information. The 1.0 Silverlight.js was not able to handle this case correctly and blocked your browser from seeing content, just as you suggested above. This is fixed in the Silverlight 2 <object> tag instantiation model and in the Silverlight 2 Silverlight.js file.

Can you please send me the contents of your userAgent string? You can get these by pasting this into the IE address bar:

javascript:document.write("<br/>userAgent string:"navigator.userAgent"<br/>");

and pressing enter. Then, copy the resulting text and post it here.

I am using Windows-XP/IE-7. But there is nothing wrong with my machine. It is the Silverlight.js logic at so many web sites which fails to detect my Silverlight 2.
For instance, if I go to http://magenic.com/ it would wrongly tell me
"Your browser may not be supported by Microsoft Silverlight.Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/system-requirements.aspx for more information" over and over again to install the Silverlight. Even if you reinstall, the warning would never go away.
However, those websites, which use Silverlight 2 always work.

Can you tell me about your setup? Are you on Windows or Mac? Are you using Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer? What version of Silverlight do you have installed?

The Sivlerlight.js that shipped with Silverlight 1.0 was not resiliant to a breaking change in Mozilla Firefox 3. That change broke Silverlight.js' ability to determine what version was installed using the 1.0 methodology. In order to support those browsers in 1.0 tools you will need to replace the default Silverlight.js file as you have.

It is surprising to note that when I create a project in Expression Blend 2, (The latest release); the Siverlight.js always wrongly says that Silverlight is not installed.
Although I have the latest version Silverlight installed.
It is only when I replaced that with the latest Silverlight.js 2.0.30523.6 that issue was resolve.
So many Silverlight websites give me the same annoying error, perhaps because of a flaw in the out of the box version of Silverlight.js that is generated by Expression Blend 2.

On FireFox 3, I get the same "Bad NPObject as Private data" error inside the file SilverlightMedia.js.

Is it possible to find the bug in that file as well? I'm using Encoder 2 and having problems implementing Silverlight Media player in asp.net ajax page.
