Hi,

I try to do a reverse proxy with your script (Ver. 2.0.2) but can't make it to work. here is my rules :

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://srv:800/$1 [P]

when in open the site i see that :

Server Error in '/Test' Application.

All I find is a source code. Do we have any website associated with microsft to make large URLs shorter like the one we have for an example Notlong.com which helps the user to make the larger URls shorter for easy remembrance or if you do have any exe files to excute would be appreciatable..

NEW POST: not actually forwarding requests?

Hi,
I'm trying to use this as a reverse proxy, forwarding all requests on to a remote server. I've got it configured and the logs seem to indicate that it is forwarding on the requests, but all the clients get back is 404 errors from the proxy server itself.

My rule is:
RewriteLogLevel 9
RewriteLog c:\\temp\\rewrite.log
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://10.153.170.161$1 [NC,P]

And when I hit the proxy with a request the following is logged:

Rewrite: Rule Pattern Matched
Rewrite: Substitution: http://10.153.170.161/FOOStaging/FOOWeb/WebServices/SearchHistoryServices.asmx
Rewrite: Proxy: http://10.153.170.161/FOOStaging/FOOWeb/WebServices/SearchHistoryServices.asmx

Am I missing something?

How does it work?

These rules provide the web request a way to validate how the requesting friendly URL should be handled. I tried the following without success:

RewriteRule ^/not-a-directory/(.*) http://myserver/Login.aspx [P]

if I change the extension to html then it works

RewriteRule ^/not-a-directory/(.*) http://myserver/Login.html [P]

am I missing something?
Comments: I am not sure, but I have the Proxy working with my ASP.NET server. Check to see if it has something to do with my User-Agent: ManagedFusion/1.0 (rewriter-proxy; +http://managedfusion.com/bot.html) Let me know.

The binaries are compiled in Release mode. I have just included the PDB files for bug reporting purposes and easy stack tracing. Also I am not currently allowed to release the source code. As I said in another post:
