Any idea when a new release with the match regular expressions option might be available? I have code for this function which I could send to you, I just couldn't add a bitmap because the resource DLL project wasn't included.

Another annoyance is that VS keeps switching the "Look in" option from "Current Document" to "Selection" on me. It seems to be whenever I use Ctrl-F3 (Edit.FindNextSelected).

So, I'd like a button that toggles vsFindTarget between vsFindTargetCurrentDocument and vsFindTargetCurrentDocumentSelection (or if you have a better implementation, that would work, as long as I can set it back to vsFindTargetCurrentDocument without having to open the find dialog).

I downloaded this, exited my running MSVC++ 2008, installed the .vsi, and re-ran MSVC++ 2008, but I don't see the buttons on the toolbar. I see "MatchOptionsCommands" on the "Tools\AddManager..." dialog, though. Maybe this got messed up when I was previously trying to install the older MSVC++ 2005 add in (which didn't seem to do anything). Thanks!

This is excellent, I've been looking for something like this for years, and was just about to try to write something myself.

The one thing that's missing is the "match regular expressions" button. I downloaded the source, and tried to add the function myself. I was able to hook up the code, but I can't seem to add a bitmap for it. There doesn't seem to be a project file for MatchOptionsCommands.resources.dll. I've never made an add-on before, and this is my first time using C#, so maybe I'm missing something obvious here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This version of the MatchOptionsCommands addin will add two buttons to the Standard toolbar in Visual Studio that allow you to quickly toggle the "Match Case" and "Match Whole Word" find options.

Addin will work in either Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008 (Standard and up).

A simple addin which adds toggle buttons for various find options (Match Case, Match Whole Word) in Visual Studio 2005 & 2008.

This is behavior that existed in prior versions of Visual Studio, but was removed in 2005.
