    • Hi Team, can this version be implemented in a laptop of 64bit windows 8.1 enterprise OS? or it can be implemented only in windows server? I am just getting started to MOngoDB.
    • Yes. All the steps mentioned in the post are performed on laptop only so no worries
    • Thanks Shailendra.

    • One of the better guides out there for this! I agree with other person though you should also mention how to make the database.

    • Hi,

Thanks for posting. The one thing that I needed to add to your instructions was to actually create the Mongo and database directories before running the final command. This was the output before I did so:

      C:\Users\aferl>mongod --dbpath c:\Users\aferl\Mongo\database
      2016-03-18T08:40:39.467-0700 I CONTROL [initandlisten] MongoDB starting : pid=9064 port=27017 dbpath=c:\Users\aferl\Mongo\database 64-bit host=TONY-DESKTOP-B3AF77D

      2016-03-18T08:40:39.480-0700 I CONTROL [initandlisten] db version v3.2.4

Created the directories. Now the output was:
