This sample demonstrates how to access, create, update, and remove syndicated content feeds from the web using the Windows Runtime implementation of the Atom Publication standard. This sample is currently provided in the JavaScript, C#, C++, and VB programming languages. For a sample demonstrating a Windows Store app that can retrieve syndicated content from the web, download the Syndication sample.
Capabilities required by the AtomPub sample:
- Internet (Client): This sample retrieves feeds from the internet (WordPress).
- Home or Work Networking: Since developers may use a URI that points to a host on the local intranet, this capability is required. If apps will only communicate with servers on the internet, the "Home or Work Networking" capability should not be set.
Note The default destination used in this sample is http://www.wordpress.com/. As a result, a WordPress account is required to create, modify, or delete content on that site.
To obtain an evaluation copy of Windows 8.1, go to Windows 8.1.
To obtain an evaluation copy of Microsoft Visual Studio 2013, go to Visual Studio 2013.
Note For Windows 8 app samples, download the Windows 8 app samples pack. The samples in the Windows 8 app samples pack will build and run only on Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
