  • Memory usage

    • After MediaCapture.StartRecordToCustomSinkAsync() is executed, the memory goes up by about 50MB. Which part of the code consumes the most memory?

    • I've just found this program after weeks of looking for something like this. The only question I have is can I capture the stream to a file? Of course I can but whats the syntax to do this? Any help appreciated.
Also is it really hard to find good tutorials / books for webcam or is just me.
  • Making it works over the internet
    2 Posts | Last post December 10, 2014
    • Hi,
I have tried the sample and it works like a charm on all my laptops : good job, I really like it. Nevertheless, I need to do one to one video chat over the internet instead of on the local network : what would it take to perform a video chat using your sample between two persons being on different network ?
Thanks in advance for your answer.
    • Thank you for using the sample. RT Communication code is meant to show how you can wire up MF for network communication app. It is not in any way a working solution. The network stack is very simple it requires constant bandwidth since it doesn't support adaptive bitrate switching, it doesn't solve NAT issues too. STSP is just a made up protocol (Simple Test Streaming Protocol).
I'm sorry but it will not work over the Internet unless both participants have public IP addresses and sufficient bandwidth.
  • Getting exception
    3 Posts | Last post May 07, 2014
    • I am getting this exception whether pressing start loop back or switching into video chat mode.
The application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8001010E (RPC_E_WRONG_THREAD))
    • I've got the same problem with the VS 2012 (Win 8.0) sample, too.
AND I have not got an answer on that from MS eiter.
MS seems to ignore some kinds of questions - look at the date: May 4th
    • What version of the sample do you have the problem with? C#, C++ or JS?
  • Working on Internet

    • I have run the app without any errors on both Pentium and Core i5 CPUs.
As far as I read the questions and answers and according to the Demian Flavius comment. This only works on the local network. Can anyone give me some info for extending this sample for allowing internet streaming?
  • Running the sample app in VS2012 using Win8 Build 9200 on an x64 machine reports an unobservedexception

    • I am building the sample app code in VS 2012 in x64 configuration. Running in the debugger it returns an unhandled exception. Are there any configuration settings I have to make in order to build and run the C++ sample app on an x64 machine.
I want to be able to debug the Video chat mode. The error I see is MSVCR110D.dll
  • Scenario 2 Error Code on tablet
    1 Posts | Last post May 16, 2013
    • I've downloaded the Same C++, JS code onto my laptop and two tablets. Each of the devices work fine for the first scenario "Low Latency," however, when I click scenario 2, "Video Chat," both tablets show an error below "Output." The error says: "Capture error code: Error." Any idea what is going on?
