    • In JavaScript apps, you can get an HtmlPrintDocumentSource. Is there any way to do this with a WebView?

    • Yes file upload is a challenge, the WebView in Phone doesn't support this so you need to override the client code, redirect to a native picker UI, then proxy the result back into the website (via HttpClient for example).

You might look at https://github.com/craigomatic/HybridWebApp-Framework for some ideas on how to proxy data back and forward between a WebView and the host app.

  • File uploading - need support!
    1 Posts | Last post September 15, 2014
    • I can't get file uploading to work from a WebView control. It works in the IE browser on the phone, but not inside an app with a WebView. This is a very important feature! Please advise on how this can be done.

    • File uploading does not seem to work on Windows Phone.
It does work on IE but from inside Webview will never display the native file picker. How to enable this?
  • Shared portion doesn't load, has an error
    1 Posts | Last post May 16, 2014
    • I'm a load error on the Shared portion of the project with VS 2013 Ultimate with Update 2 installed. The error is referring to a path that doesn't exist (missing intermediate VC dir just before VCWizards). Where is this path set and why is it seemingly incorrect?

C:\WebViewSample\C++\Shared\Shared.vcxitems : error : Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\VCWizards\shared.vcxproj'.

    • When I try to open the .sln file, I get an error that says "This edition of Visual Studio only supports Windows Store apps".
    • Opening the sample from Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 RC works.
    • universal app solutions that use .shproj files require VS 2013 Update 2. you can download that from here now: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Universal-Windows-app-cb3248c3
