  • where is the mvvm?

    • I understand is sample application for the mere purpose of showing how to handle taking pictures/videos but mvvm is such a crucial part of your whole push for WPF why in the world wouldnt you have sample code exclusively on mvvm? things like getting the ui thread even changed with 8.1 apps. If your sample code is crap most of your apps/submited apps will have terrible code.

    • When I run this sample from VS13 and try to capture video I get a message saying "This app needs permission to use your camera. You can change this in app settings". 
      How do I fix this?

    • The CameraCaptureUI API does not provide any customization for the capture screen. If you would like to add your own graphics, you will have to build your own UI and use media capture API's for the capture (
      For camera options customization, you can take a look at the Metro Style device app for camera sample (
