  • Running this in a Service
    2 Posts | Last post March 19, 2018
    • Great code, thank you!
      I have set these items in the job:
      job.SetCredentials(new System.Net.NetworkCredential(@"<domain>\<user>", "PASSWORD"));
      But while running inside of a Windows Service, I still get the same error I see everywhere else.
      System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800704DD): The operation being requested was not performed because the user has not logged on to the network. The specified service does not exist. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800704DD) at Microsoft.Net.BITS.Interop.IBackgroundCopyJob.SetNotifyInterface(Object Val)
      Does these configuration options still not allow BITs to be run as a Service?
      Thank you,
    • Sounds like it may be related to which user it's being run as.

    • On line 80 I get the following error:
      "Could not load type 'Microsoft.Net.BITS.Interop.BG_BASIC_CREDENTIALS' from assembly 'Microsoft.Net.BITS, Version=2.1.6113.23387, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' because it contains an object field at offset 4 that is incorrectly aligned or overlapped by a non-object field."
